I’ve spent more time than I care to admit arguing about commas and semicolons. Not because I think grammar rules are handed down from on high, but because I believe the way you write says something about the way you think. Clear writing is clear thinking.
This section covers grammar, writing craft, and publishing — the nuts and bolts of putting words together in a way that doesn’t make readers want to throw your book across the room. Some of it is strict rule stuff. Some of it is opinion. I’ll try to tell you which is which.
